Converting Matterport into 3D Revit BIM Model

Over the past six months, we've noticed a significant increase in the use of Matterport among architecture and engineering firms in order to capture existing site conditions. The president of one architecture firm in Lancaster, PA reported to us that, "The Matterport Pro2 camera is very reasonable in cost, super simple to use, includes basic point cloud capture and enables us to have beautiful 360-degree photos for client & design meetings."

Once a Matterport site capture is performed, firms have access to an XYZ point cloud file that can be used to create a Level of Detail (LOD) 200 3D Revit Model.

At Factory Reality, we are experts at creating top-quality Autodesk Revit models from point clouds of all kinds, particularly Matterport.

We've created 3D Revit BIM Models from Matterport-captured point clouds for brands like Walgreens and The Home Depot. We're an American firm that understands the needs and wants of AEC professionals. No matter the size of your project, we'd love to help.

Send your Matterport viewer link to us along with a short description of your project at sales@factoryreality.com or give us a call at +1 (919) 374-0091. We will return to you with a personalized proposal within 24 hours.

How do I access the point cloud file from my Matterport capture files?

In order to access the Matterport point cloud XYZ file, you must purchase the MatterPak Bundle see here. For more information about the point cloud file itself, please reference the Matterport Help Article here.
